Ok, So I got this new book…Food & You by AG. It’s about eating healthy and right etc. You can get it cheaper on Amazon. Anyway.. It had a site in it that you could look up about the food pyramid that is for you. Look under www.mypyramid.gov. Look under my pyramid plan and make one for you. You can also look under menu planner and type in what you ate and it tells you what catagory the food is under and how much “extras” and oils are in it. It’s pretty cool!!

So sorry about the silence around here. I am going to continue talking about modesty but thought I would let you take a couple days off. I am going to be back at it very soon! Well, the truth is I have just been busy. With all the volunteering I do, and soccer, and piano. I just don’t seem to have time to write a post. I am trying to make improvements on the site so please be patient!

         In this post we are going to start our Study on Modesty Poll Topic Discussion! Our very first answer is…If you’re flashing something  you shouldn’t that’s immodest.  Maybe I should have put if you flashing something that’s immodest. Because how do you know if your flashing something you shouldn’t?? Maybe I think that showing my belly is not immodest, while others think it is.

              The Bible says things about dress, like I wrote in the earlier post. Just to refresh your memory… 1 Timothy 2:9b-10 “…women adorn themselves in modest apparel,  with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing. but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.

         It say very clearly that we are to adorn(wear) modest apparel. It also says with propriety (proper) and moderation. That is why I think it says not with braided hair, etc. Not because it is wrong but because we should dress with moderation, for it’s what’s inside that counts. If I am wearing earrings, and bracelets, and necklaces, and lots of hair things in church or anywhere then I am going to be distracting you. It says to which is proper for women professing godliness(claiming to be Godly). You just can’t get much clearer than that. It says wear modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, that is proper for professing godliness.

          Next time you go shopping or put something on do the Missy Modesty Exam…Get in front of a mirror and bend half way over, look up, can you see down you shirt?? If so only wear if you are sure you won’t be bending over. Look in the mirror, is your belly or anything else showing?? Don’t wear these at all unless you are at home and no one is coming over. Is your shirt or pants to tight?? Take them off. and finally do you have too much jewelry? Remove a few pieces! 

Toon in next time for our next questions… To tight of clothing, stuff that shows every jelly roll you have and Shorty shorts, mini skirts, halter tops, anything to reveling!!!

   We left off last time with the question What does Modest mean?? I have done a lot of thinking and research about this one. Here’s what I found. Let’s start with the Websters dictionary definition, Under Modesty…Quiet and Humble in appearance, style, etc. Not showy. Now you could take this as meaning not show offish. but let’s think outside the box for a minute. Not showy… Not showing off to much of our body’s. Wearing clothing that covers you. Now I’m not talking long sleeves, jeans, shoes and socks, and a hat. I’m saying you can still dress cute or cool and still be modest. Like wear a cami under that V-nack, or go with a tankini rather than that bikini all your friends are wearing. I also looked up the definition on the word Modest…Quality or state of being modest. This is saying it’s a quality to be modest! Moving on, I looked it the bible too and here are some verses I found… #1 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, “Or do you not know that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”  Your body is the temple of  the Holy Spirit. That means take care of it, take pride in it, and dress modestly. If you are a Christian, then you should draw attention to God not yourself.  #2 1 Timothy 2:9b- 10 ”… women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing. but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.”   This verse is very blunt and clear on how to look. It isn’t saying it’s wrong to to braid your hair. Here is what the Commentary in the Life Application Bible says about these 2 verses ,condensed… “Some Christian women were trying to gain respect by looking beautiful rather than becoming Christlike in character. Some may have thought that they could win unbelieving husbands to Christ through there appearance. It’s not unscriptural for a woman to want to be attractive. Beauty, however, begins inside a person.” Bottom line___By dressing immodestly  we are not making ourselves beautiful were making ourselves ungodly. It’s like my mom says… If it’s not for sale, Don’t advertise! 

     We have just finished are very first Study on Modesty!! :D Now that we know what modesty means, we’re going to start our poll topic descussion. Coming next time…If your flashing something you know you shouldn’t, that’s immodest! Keep looking for the next post…

In the last post I noted that I would be writing more about the poll later. Well, It’s later and here I am again. First I want to say Thank you for your comments. Second, I want to let you know that this post is not going to explain anything just yet. I want to break this poll down, and explain what I mean for each answer, in the future. So to do that I am going to go ahead and put the poll up again(You don’t have to vote again.)

I have this poll set up to randomized the answers so we might not talk about them in the same order as on the poll. What is Inmodest Clothing?? There were alot of things that came to my mind when I thought of this, and some I just wrote because they were funny, but The one that I would have picked (if I could only pick one) would be “If your flashing something you know you shouldn’t be then it’s inmodest.” I want to start with the answer to this one, but first, shouldn’t we find out what the word modesty means?? So we are going to start our, let’s call it “Study on Modesty” with this question. What does Modesty mean? HMM.. Now that I know how to put some polls up… Here is one I have wanted to get up for quite some time and never knew how. Modesty is the topic and I would really appreciate your advice, as well as your comments. Now… Back to the topic, Modesty. What does modesty mean? What makes a person beautiful? What makes a person likable? These are all questions I want your opinion on. I know what I believe but I want to know what you think. Now the first question is kinda a word that you can look up but the others there is no set THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE________. It’s all what you believe. So what do you believe?? This is kinda a touchy subject for some, and I understand you might not like me for putting this up, but you know what?? GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry. I want to make this a public thing. I want to tell you that I am gonna tell ya what I believe and what the bible says because this is a really big topic and it is a growing problem. I know that some of this might not make sense to some of you and I know I might not have worded it all correctly, but I want to get my point across. There are going to be more post on this as well as more polls because the Lord has laid it on my heart to write about this because there are a lot of girls who look up to and want to be just like some of these older girls. And how are we setting a good example for them if we aren’t dressing modestly????? So please understand that I am not out to get anyone, and this is something I really want to write about.  When I was writing a page I came across something that said insert a poll? HMM.. I thought, I’ve tried to figure out how to do something like that so I am gonna give it a whirl!

Last Friday I had my last soccer game of the season. The team we played was very dirty and the refs were terrible. I got shoved to the ground and they didn’t even call it, now I am limping around. I have a district game on Tuesday and I hope I can play by then. If I can’t I am not going to be a happy camper.

Tonight is my last season soccer game of the year. I really hope that we win tonight!!! I will try to post more after the season!
